If you are new to chat, this will help get you started!
First of all, you will need to be logged in to the site as a member to see the chat rooms. Members agree to the terms and conditions of the website and the chat rooms, which include the guidelines listed below. We have set up chat times (see below)
Once logged in, you will by default be able to see the open chat room "the lounge"
You can see other available chat rooms by clicking on the "channel:" drop down list.
Generally it is very easy to use the chat, you type in the panel at the bottom ( see picture)

To turn the sound off, click on the little speaker icon at the bottom right hand corner. For more help and tips click on the ? icon.
To log out you can close the window, navigate away from the chat or click "log out".
You can change the theme or even the lanugage of the interface ( though it will not translate your messages for you )
The rooms we have set up include The lounge, weight matters, the mens shed, the parents retreat
Chat times are: Please check your time zone - the times below are set to AEST with daylight savings times appying http://www.bcl.com.au/times-daylight-saving.htm - check here to see if you are on daylight savings or not and how to calculate your time zone.
Please note we have now combined our general chat times to be open to all people, as it means less moderation time for our volunteers and more chances of a larger group popping in. Our moderators will be on a roster to support people in the chat. Our special times for farming families and men, still apply :)

It is important to also remember these are casual sessions and there is no counsellor or diabetes educator present. These are purely social times for you to get together with people with similar issues. These are not counselling or education sessions and any moderators are not there to provide advice. They are simply there to make sure someone is in the room and keeping an eye on things; and can contact us if needed. Please do not ask them for diabetes management advice, such as changes to medication or for counselling around any issues.
