Diabetes is sneaky!!!

I was diagnosed with diabetes in 1994. At first it did'nt worry me too much, keep an eye on diet, my weight was at most 83 kilos when boom - I went down with cancer of the oesophagus which was removed on 1/8/2000 (my birthday) and am still here!

Afterwards the medicos told me the diabetes was not evident. In 2003 then things went haywire, I got giddy turns, hypo attacks, and also high readings of around 18mmol.

Then the next year my balance went, my feet nerves went, and then the blood vesels behind my left eye left me with distorted vision. A sad story that, as i am waiting for the next onslaught, which proves diabetes is really sneaky!

It's all very hard on my carer (my wife), and am hoping you may have hints on diet etc. here as due to my medical history I cannot eat much vegies, and can only eat very small meals and is quite a large problem.

The story about diabetes may, I hope, warn folks never take this ailment lightly, and be prepared and seek assistance.

Thank you for this chance to tell you all.
