    Hi Cath
thank you for this post. I am sure there will be members who are interested in this research.

This is a topic that some men and their partners do bring up with me in email counselling. They are often uncomfortable discussing this problem in person with a doctor or other health professional and it is something we need to talk more openly about, as it affects so many couples, particularly men with diabetes.

I have checked out the Andrology Australia website and anyone interested in the study might like to have a look at that

Many thanks Helen, for the opportunity to post on your site. It looks like a great (and much needed) source of support for people.

The Andrology Australia website is a great resource for anyone wanting to find out more about erectile dysfunction and other men’s health conditions.

I welcome anyone to get in touch if they’d like to find out about other erectile dysfunction resources, or find out more about the study.

    Cheers,
    Cath

[color=Purple:1vf69ltx]Having a long term illness certainly takes its toll on your body and not just for the men

It can come down to the fact that you are so tired, I know for me the lack of energy at times is horrible and the last thing you want to do at the end of the day is jump into bed, has diabetes effected my libido? I know I never felt this bad when I was in my 20s

Also with my husband being sick with ulcerative colitis this also effected his libido, so it isnt just the physical thing of it wont happen it is also the fact that you dont actually feel like it

    just my 2 cents worth[/color:1vf69ltx]

Sex certainly turns into one of the last things on the list when you’re running low on energy.

One of the things we’re looking at in this study, is how women/partners respondd when guys start an ED treatment and are suddenly ready for sex again. Sometimes it’s a welcome thing, sometimes it’s not!

    Thanks for your response maccas.
    All the best,
    Cath
