Study for men with diabetes
We are undertaking a project looking at how men are managing their diabetes, health and wellbeing and also how helpful our online counselling and diabetes education services are in doing this. It is open to men with diabetes across Australia. If you are interested in joining us please have a look at the at the flier here
We will ask you to complete an online survey and then will start up to 6 hours worth of free e-counselling and/or diabetes education. When this is finished, after 3 months we will get back in touch and ask you to complete the survey again. We will give you more information if you are interested. This is different to a study we were running where some men had to wait 3 months for counselling. All men enrolling in the study (once we see that you are ok to go ahead with us) will be offered the counselling and/or diabetes education straight away.
I am type-1 diabetic. However, much I take insulin or even calculate my carbs I eat, I seem to be running high on BSL. It causes heavy headedness, tiredness and even loss of activity. Any guidance?
Hi Patrick, that does not sound nice :-( I have had type 1 for 34 years and know how yucky it feels to run high. There must be a reason and perhaps we can help you try to nut it out. We can offer free 1-1 email consult for you - just email firstname.lastname@example.org We can offer up to 6 hours worth of e-counselling/education. I will refer you to one of our team who will work with you on the issues you raised. We are currently undertaking a research study to look at the helpfulness of our online counselling services for men living with diabetes in Australia. If you might be interested in participating in this, please let us know in your email. There is no obligation to participate and you will receive online counselling no matter what you decide. If you are interested, we will send you the participant information and consent form before we get started with your consult which may mean a few days delay in starting while we make sure you understand the process and that you are suitable to join the study. If not interested just let us know and we will begin straight away. bye for now Helen :-)
