Diabetes Counselling Online was self funded from 2001 – 2004 and then supported via the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) with seed funding during 2004 – 2009, administered by Diabetes Australia. This enabled us to become a national charity and to grow and develop our organisation. From 2009 – 2012 we have been supported by volunteers, fundraising, donations, grants and sponsors.
We have now won a grant from July 2012 – July 2015 through the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing to develop our services. Ensuring sustainability beyond this grant is critical and as an independent charity it is our priority to secure corporate partners for major sponsorship so we can continue to offer our unique services into the future.
In operation since late 2001, we are now valued by the diabetes community, have received national and international recognition and awards and continually strive to improve and develop our services.
Past Sponsors
Novo Nordisk – Past Major Website Sponsor – Platinum
Novo Nordisk were our founding Platinum Sponsor providing major support for our online counselling services and in particular, development of ”Type 1 Weight Matters” programme in 2009-2011. They were also the GOLD sponsor for our Sweet Talk Gala dinner in 2009 – 2011. We are very grateful to Novo Nordisk for their very generous support of our counselling services across 2008-2011. Their focus on supporting the “person behind the disease” fits very much with our work in diabetes. See more here.

Sponsor opportunities
In 2012-2015 we are seeking Corporate Sponsors and partners. We aim to develop partnerships with organisations who both support our values of enabling wellbeing and mental health for people with diabetes and the community at large; and who are unique and inspirational in their approach to their business.
We are leaders in the online counselling arena and in diabetes and mental health – and can offer wide exposure and benefits to our partner organisations. When we started there were only 2 other organisations providing these types of online services and we are in the front line of counselling using the Internet in Australia to deliver health servicces. This is an exciting opportunity for organisations to become involved in a vibrant and ground breaking service which is about to grow significantly.
Please contact us at support@diabetescounselling.com.au if your organisation is interested in discussing potential Sponsorship.
